Sumber ApakabarOnline.com – Aplikasi WhatsApp akan membatasi pemakainya. Per 1 Februari 2020 nanti, WhatsApp akan menghentikan fungsinya di beberapa jenis handphone.

Dilansir dari Merdeka.com, tahun 2018 lalu, WhatsApp juga melakukan pembaharuan sistem, sehingga ada beberapa handphone yang tak bisa lagi mengaksesnya. Berikut daftar HP yang tidak akan bisa menggunakan WhatsApp lagi di tahun 2020.

IPhone dengan iOS 8 ke Bawah

IPhone merupakan salah satu jenis handphone yang tergolong mewah dan canggih. Sistem keamanan pengguna iPhone sangat terjaga, dan fitur-fiturnya berada satu tingkat di atas handphone Android biasa.

Hampir setiap tahunnya, iPhone selalu mengeluarkan produk baru dengan sistem operasi dan tampilan yang lebih canggih. Sayangnya, di tahun 2020 nanti, ada beberapa jenis iPhone lawas yang tidak bisa mengakses WhatsApp lagi.

“Mulai 1 Februari 2020, semua jenis iPhone dengan iOS 8 ke bawah tidak akan bisa mendukung (fitur WhatsApp)…” Ungkap perwakilan dari Facebook seperti yang dilansir dari Southlands Sun, Kamis (12/12) lalu.

Handphone dengan Mesin Microsoft Lumia

Pihak Facebook juga menambahkan, selain iPhone dengan iOS lawas, masih ada puluhan jenis handphone yang tidak bisa mendukung fitur terbaru WhatsApp lagi.

Salah satunya ialah handphone dengan mesin Microsoft Lumia. Semua jenis yang masih menggunakan mesin operasi berbasis Microsoft Lumia tidak akan bisa menggunakan WhatApps lagi mulai tahun depan.

Pembaharuan fitur WhatsApp membutuhkan sistem perangkat yang mendukung. Sehingga tidak semua handphone mampu menjalankan fungsinya dengan baik apabila masih memakai mesin operasi lama.

Android yang Dirilis Sebelum Tahun 2010

Tidak hanya menimpa handphone kelas iPhone dan Microsoft saja, pengguna Android juga harus segera memperbaharui handphone mereka apabila masih menggunakan sistem operasi lawas.

Handphone Android dengan versi 2.3.7 atau keluaran sebelum tahun 2010, akan mengalami keterbatasan dalam mengakses fitur terbaru WhatsApp. Bahkan, handphone jenis ini juga sudah tidak bisa memperbaharui aplikasi WhatsApp-nya karena sistem perangkat yang tidak memadai.

Contoh handphone Android keluaran sebelum tahun 2010 ialah Google Nexus One, Samsung Epic 4G, dan Motorola Droid X.

Penjelasan Pihak Facebook

Pihak Facebook menghimbau kepada para pengguna WhatsApp untuk segera memperbaharui sistem perangkat dan fitur terbaru WhatsApp di handphone mereka.

“Pengguna dengan sistem operasi tersebut sudah tidak bisa lagi membuat akun baru WhatsApp atau mengembalikan akun lama…” jelas Facebook.

Langkah ini dilakukan Facebook untuk mengikuti arus kebutuhan tren melalui sistem perangkat baru. Tahun 2014, Facebook telah membeli WhatsApp, sehingga sistem pengaturan dan pembaharuannya kini berada di bawah naungan Facebook.
